Intuitive Kerning

MoText Kerning finally comes to Cinema 4D with a subtle and intuitive interface directly in the viewport. Adjust kerning, Y and Z position, scale, and rotation on every axis. Character limit is 42 characters per MoText object, which is way more than any healthy designer will want to lay out in 3D.

Thanks

Many thanks to the deviously creative designers Rahel Toenz and Greg Brotherton (brotron.com) for coming up with the perfect name, as well as C4D legends Chris Schmidt, Greyscalegorilla and Robert Leger for enriching the c4d community with their know-how and hard work.

does Kernit work for R16 or R15?

    • Ralf Leeb on October 6, 2014 at 8:58 pm

      Yes on both.

Hello, When I apply a fillet cap to the end of a mograph layer, it seems to glitch. Any ideas on how to fix?
    Thanks

    • Ralf Leeb on August 8, 2013 at 5:05 pm

Hi – there are no mograph layers as far as i know, you mean the MoText object, and which end?

Is there an opportunity for volume licensing. Also do we need rendering licenses as well.

We have sent you an email.

Hi Ralf – I would like to buy 6 copies of Kernit. Is there an easier way to buy them than one at a time?

    Thanks!

This is a much needed plugin. Lots of power, and easy to use.

Is there a way to animate any of the kerning variables? I don’t see keyframes, so I presume not…but thought I’d ask.

    • Ralf Leeb on April 2, 2013 at 7:34 pm

Thanks! Kerning animation is technically totally possible but not implemented for sake of keeping a clean UI. I’ll email you directly about your options.

Do we need a copy of your plug-in on each of our render nodes for distributed rendering? Thanks, brad

    • Ralf Leeb on April 2, 2013 at 8:53 am

No, netrender is fine without it. But the MoText object is a bit finicky with Fonts if they’re not on the client nodes, one thing to watch out for…

I installed Kernit to Cinema 4D r12 and I doest see any of the number option under the text.

    • Ralf Leeb on January 21, 2013 at 9:54 pm

By default Kernit is hidden. So you click Show/Hide Kernit on the right of the viewport, or in the attribute panel. All you need to do is click on Kernit again in the objects panel. Works :D That extra step is only necessary in R12, not R13 or later.

… and sorry for the delay in my response, unfortunately the c4dtools gateway takes a bit to forward comments via email.

The first version was also the doubled price as now!

What´s up with the bonus for customers who support you before – they pay more than every new one now, for the same features ?

    Strange handling!

    • Ralf Leeb on October 26, 2012 at 10:03 pm

Again, it’s a free update. And buyers of the original Kernit will receive the next major update for free (as opposed to “new” buyers from now on).

    • Thomas Belitzki on October 27, 2012 at 12:37 am

Thanks, for clearing this up, Ralf.

It´s better you inform the customers, before the public release :-)

I´ve reading the inform-text – but there´s no information, that´s this is a free update.

That´s the reason for my questions.
But thanks again for your really good plugin!

Same prize for all customers ?
Also for those who has purchased the first version of kernit ?

    • Ralf Leeb on October 26, 2012 at 10:01 pm

It’s a free update, if you haven’t received the update yet you should get it shortly.

Hello, I am trying to buy 10 licenses of Kernit, but when I add to cart and change to qty. 10, the paypal button doesn’t work. I let it sit for a while and nothing happened. How do I order? Thanks!

    • admin on September 19, 2012 at 11:16 pm

      Hello Andrew,

are you using Firefox? There reportedly are problems with that browser. Can you switch to Chrome or Safari for purchasing? If not, please let me know again. We’ll figure it out.

    nice tool.

Will it work with version C4D 14?

    • Ralf Leeb on August 31, 2012 at 2:59 am

It works beautifully in the R14 demo, so it’s fairly safe to say it will…

    • Jerome on September 1, 2012 at 1:26 pm

Hello, great tool but it just doesn’t work on my R13.061 (mac), the numbers are displayed only in one (weird) position in space and doesn’t stick to the letters, and dragging them makes nothing at all.
Should I change something in the interface set up ?

      thx a lot
      Jerome
