Installation Guides

Plugins

If not stated differently in the download package, copy or drag the complete plugin folder to the following folder on your harddrive: ../MAXON/Cinema 4D RXX/plugins/. Don’t forget to restart Cinema 4D to initialize the plugins.

Content Kits

Content Kits usually come as .lib4D files, as they contain a pre-organized set of C4D resources. To install those .lib4d files, just drag or copy them into the following folder: ../MAXON/Cinema 4D RXX/library/browser/. Once you have restarted Cinema 4D, you’ll find a new entry in the Cinema 4D Content Browser.

Scripts

If not stated differently in the download package, copy or drag the script files to the following folder on your harddrive: ../MAXON/Cinema 4D RXX/library/scripts/. Don’t forget to restart Cinema 4D to initialize the plugins.

XPresso Presets

Most XPresso Presets come as standard .c4d files, which means you only have to open them like a regular project and copy the preset structure into your own project. Usually all preset objects are grouped in one main Null-object, so you only have to copy this Null.

A more convenient way is to install the XPresso Preset to the Cinema 4D Content Browser, so that you can add them again and again fast and easily.

1. Open the Content Browser

2. Create a new preset library

3. Name your preset library

4. Click on your new preset library to open it

5. Drag the preset’s C4D file into the content area on the right

6. Set a preview image (all presets from the XPS come with a JPG)

7. Final touch: get rid of the “.c4d” by renaming the preset

8. Done! Now just drag to add the XPresso preset to your scene

In case your XPresso Preset is delivered as a .lib4d file, please take a loot at the Content Kits installation guide.
