I just purchased your Graph Maker V.3. After I made the purchase thru PayPal it prompted it me to a download link. The folder I downloaded didn’t have any plug-in as your installer link said it would have, it only had a C4D project file with one bar graph in it. The Graph Maker is not a plugin in the traditional sense; it is an XPresso preset, which always comes as a project file. You just open and use it.
But there is a way to install a preset into your C4D content browser. Just follow these steps: http://c4dtools.net/install/

Is it really Mac-only? As far as I know it was even developed on a Windows PC. Let’s wait what the developer says. If it’s really Mac-only you’ll of course get a refund.

I’m having a doubt… Do you have Cinema 4D in your PC? This is not a stand alone software, it only works with Cinema 4D (for Windows and Mac). In any case, I developed this preset on a Windows PC.

first of all… Thanks for purchase my GM!
The apparent problem is due to the multibar orientation of preset. And the Maximum Value fixes only the shapes of bars, so you can animate the values without change of the main shape like the panel and the curves of the bars.
But you can fix that! Simply go to animation tab, tick the flag on Enable Custom Animation and change the Y value of the right point to 0.4.

There is an option for ‘enable gradient color for bar’. but this gives me a gradient on the bar.
Is it possible to have a solid color assigned to the bars based on the value? which then picks the colors from the gradient?

That function, only for bars on the floor and standing up works in the way you have seen. Unfortunately the mode you would like to have is not implemented, but is a great idea. I will think a little bit about it. For any other question do not esitate to contact me.
Just to say that after some time spent to work on and thanks to the costant feedback from Richard I can promise to all of you two new usefull color features in the next update:
-Color from Gradient
-Color from Gradient by Values

PS: Keep in mind that the special materials (GM.Gradient.Bar, GM.Panel.Lines, GM.Random.Bar, and next GM.Solid.from.Gradient, GM.Solid.from.Gradient.by.Values) have the settings calculated by XPresso in both channels Color and Luminance, so you are free to activate the one you prefer.

-So not only can You now have it pick colors from Your gradient automatically based on the values of the individual bars.
-You can also have it apply the gradient horizontally across the bars. With each bar a slightly different color.
This one especially creates nice looking bar graphs with just a simple click of the button.
I really enjoyed providing the feedback as You added these new features…
Which in the end resulted in Graph Maker becoming an even better solution for all one’s Graph needs!

Are the values of bars animatable? It’s clear that they can be keyframed, but would that mean the bars would grow?

You must set only the final values and the single bar grows with value from zero to the set value. If you go with keyframing to the values after the last animation frame (before it should be costant) the bars will follow the new values.
I hope I’ve explained it well.
