Shift + Klick one the Pythonscript will give you in addition to the feather a corresponding material.
This RIG isn't exactly build for Animation, it's made for building Feathers. BUT I can't image why it shouldn't work with animation, just expect some bugs if you're going to try that.
I am using Cinema r12, and i can use the feather object quite easily. there is a bug I found, when i import the feather and then delete it, the feather stays where it was and wont delete from the viewer. It will render out even though its not in the object window.

hello haffawaffel!
did you also deleted all layers when you deleted the feather? there are some layers in the scene that are hiding objects from the objects window. hope that helps! :)
Hi. Great rig. Feathers look awesome! I’m wondering if it’s possible to clone the rig in any way or just make multiple copies within same c4d file.. When i try to do that, the only thing being cloned or copied is the controls you’ve made and not the actual feather.. I’m very new to c4d so it could be some basic function that I’m not aware of.. Basicly what i want to create is a spinning circle of feathers, nothing fancy.
Ok Fabian, in fact, I didnt think we had to load your c4d file. I can understand now how it works. I’m using vray for rendering, does it exist a way your feather works with it ?

Hello Leo!
Glad you found out how it actually works! :)
If I remember right, Vray does not support the c4d Hair. So if you want to use my Feather Rig you’ll have to first Run my script to convert the Rig into a c4d Feather and after that convert the Feather to Polygons. This will be very HighPoly if you are building a whole Wing and might not be what you want, because you will also lose a lot of control like dynamics and stuff. Unfortunately I think there is no other way around that (please correct me if I’m wrong! I would also be interested in a solution to that! :) )
Thanks for trying my RIG!

I’m really interested of yur feather scripts as I’m actually needing angel wings. I’m using R13, but when I click on your script button, nothing happens. Could you help me please ?
the feather-rig is based on the feather object that comes with c4d. so its just another kind of hair object and should totally work with scetch and toon, when you turn on the right rendersettings. unfortunatelly I didn’t had the time to test this and the r14-compatebility, but if you expirience any difficulties you can contact me anytime and I will see to fix things as fast as possible! :)
Will the feathers created with your really wonderful rig be renderable in Sketch and Toon? I know that Hair needs to be converted to polys. Is it the same with the feathers? Thanks!
